Hylian Crest in the center of my back. Only one I have so far. I'm planning another, but can't decide which, and am kinda poor. The next one is either gonna be bagpipe notation to a song(I haven't decided which, since there are a few that rank high enough to get tatted) on my side from my hip to chest, or my clan crest(I'm scotch, clann is gunn) on my shoulder.

    Gunn crest:

You guys may not know me very well, but nobody should really be surprised that someone who uses "Hal Jordan" as a handle has a Green Lantern tattoo. This was taken the same day I got it done, over a year ago. I've since gone in and got it touched up and it's much greener but I am having serious issues getting a picture of it. :p

My next one will likely go on my inner bicep, but I'm still playing around with what it is I want. All I know is, Jormugandr (the World Serpent from Norse myth) will be involved.

I have a friend who is a fantastic tattoo artist doing me up some artwork for my leg. I'm going to get my leg done by him as soon as he has something ready for me. Now, he is a tattoo artist, and I'm getting his artwork done on my leg, but you won't be able to call it a "tattoo", per se. He's going to paint the design on my prosthetic leg. ;)

The idea behind the artwork is that I'm a cyborg, and the flesh just got ripped off my lower left leg. Because my leg uses a vacuum seal to stay attached, there is some skin-colored gel-lined fabric that covers the seal between my skin and the edge of the prosthesis. I'm going to take a scrap piece of that material and shred up the edges of it to look like torn skin. He's going to paint in some muscle interfacing with metal and hydraulics, then put some shading and charring on the edges of the false skin. My avatar logo will also be incorporated as a logo stamped into the metal plating in the design. The carbon-fiber foot will take care of the rest of the effect.

I hate the way prosthetic manufacturers try to make the prosthesis look like a natural leg. There is really no possible way to make carbon fiber, kevlar, metal, plastic, and acrylic look like human flesh. They give you something plastic that is flesh-colored, and it is just hideous. I'm not ashamed that I have a "fake" leg, and to be honest, I'd really rather it look fake and cool than look like a completely failed attempt at "real". This should cover up the majority of the "flesh-colored" stuff, other than the skin-like material, which is meant to look like fake skin to support the cyborg idea.

I don't do tattoos, though. I am far too fickle to permanently etch something into my skin. If I get tired of the design on the leg, I can just wear long pants until it's time to get a new prosthesis anyway (they wear out like anything else) or just paint over it.

I'll get some pictures up on here as soon as I have it done!
