So, Buzzkill came into vent the other day and started talking about tattoos. Those of us in the channel started sharing our pieces, and I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for people to show off their work. I was going to wait for Buzz to start this thread, but he is taking so damn long that I figured I might as well go ahead and do it myself. I will start us off, here is one I got done back in June. I designed this; it is a cross between the Aries and Taurus zodiac signs, since I am born on April 20th (the border). Of course, I added a little patriotism -can I know some of you have some great ones, so lets see 'em.
I have one of a quadriplegic panda making a salami and cheese sandwich for Vladimir Putin. I can't post it though because it's in a special place.
Well, more importantly, you have to post a pic. That is the point of this thread. Post your damn pics!
Until you have more work than my wife I will just refer to you as a giant pussy (like I do to myself)
this is one arm, the other arm is done, back and a little leg work, chest a a few others....she is a freak
I'm a giant pussy in Red's eyes...but here are mine. With a bonus dance party pic..my brother and I. We party. View attachment 1968 View attachment 1969 View attachment 1970
View attachment 2000 Here is the tat on my left shoulder It is a Corey Miller freehand creation of Sylvester from 1988 at Fat Georges in La Puente, We were hanging out, cleaning shop making needles waiting for Corey's next appointment or walk-in, Corey asked me " Jon when are gonna get your first tat?" I answered "now" so here it is.
I'm a huge music person, music fuels my day so two of my tattoos symbolize that for me. The one on my left wrist (of the bass and treble clef) is actually something I dedicated to my brother who's a bass player and a huge inspiration to me. I also played piano for about 9 years. My third is actually a tattoo I got with a couple of friends, it's Japanese for Love. I plan on a few more, a couple color and one large back piece.
I fail at making them smaller from facebook, I plan on getting half sleeves, the left arm to be a religious one, and the right one to be like evil one, also getting the skyline across my back and a deployment tattoo.. All when I get back
I have three, but one I need to get changed (I was 18 and I did it just to be "cool"), and one I don't have photographed, nor will I. It's a tattoo that has to do with my beliefs. (Think aboriginal type 'pictures will steal your soul' stuff). But I will show you the beginning of my back tattoo. I'm still ironing out the details of the upper back/neck and middle back. The symbolism is: The celts believed that the 'celtic knotwork' with it's intertwining double-lined design was a symbol of protection. The two circles on my shoulders represent shields, and the two swords with the heart in the center signify my devotion to fighting for those I care for, even if it means the ultimate sacrifice. And it's all placed on my shoulders to symbolize my willingness to carry the burdens of those I love and care for.
I don't have any tattoos yet, not because I'm opposed to the idea but because I've haven't yet thought of anything that I wanted to put on my body permanently. Just a few days ago I found something that I think I'm going to get, though: It's a scribble Darwin made in one of his notebooks, and as far as we can tell it's the first inkling of the idea of a genetic tree. I love that he wrote "I think" above it, and I think that when this image is taken out of the context of the notebook it has even more meaning. I once branded myself on the shoulder with a small rosary cross when I was like 18, but I was just being a dumb kid. I still have this weird misshapen cross scar. Will post a picture later.
